Do the Founding Fathers Know Best?
Something debated for a number of years especially now as we face incredible history revisions from many different angles. "I confess, that I do not entirely approve of this Constitution at present; but Sir, I am not sure I shall never approve it. . . Thus I consent, Sir, to this Constitution, because I expect no better, and because I am not sure that it is not the best ." -- Benjamin Franklin Speech in the convention at the conclusion, deliberations, September 17, 1787.
Ben Franklin expected no better, and there was a little bit of skepticism in his comments about the whole thing. He did not say he consents because he thinks it is perfect! The Constitution was created not as a Celebration of Americana but as a hindrance to tyranny gone amuck. They believed that this country could very well teeter on the brink of it.
Liberals and Conservatives are in a constant slap fight over this stuff! Unfortunately, Conservatives often take the bait when Liberals disparage America's record. Let's be honest, it is not perfect and has elements of all the evil that has ever existed in the world. The thing we often forget: It is not about creating the perfect country- impossible due to human nature. It is about limiting the worst aspects of human nature as much as possible in a system that is not perfect but has performed better than anything else out there.
What does all this have to do with Leftist media? "Hate and blame America first" is their mantra and oozes from most things they create. This is a problem and done to purposefully once again throw the baby out with the bathwater. The baby, as mentioned previously in another blog, are the precious things the Constitution and Declaration of Independence have to offer and is not, as they claim, merely traditional American jingoism to which even the Founders did not adhere. The Left wants to throw out the baby primarily because they are arrogant enough to assume they can somehow avoid the evils of human nature that have afflicted human kind for millennium, rule over us and have the government disperse property out to everyone equally.
Like moths to the flame, low information voters and many television viewers fall under this trance because equality of outcome and moral ambiguity sounds good to them. A trance the writers/producers and broadcast giants promote through political messaging. Do they have the right to produce it? Absolutely. Do we have the right to point it out? Yes. Let's try to remember the Founders knew best:
A common tactic by the Far Left is to consistently set up false premises to bait Conservatives onto a playing field that is by itself wrong. By attacking the Founders as evil (slave owners, evil capitalists, gentry) and traditional valued Americans in general as racists, bigots and homophobes, these traits somehow undermine the whole foundation of America and make it a lie. Of course, since no one is perfect, they think they win this argument. They are trying to take our eyes off the ball.
The foundation of America is not based on the imperfections or qualities of Its leaders and Its people. It is based on the belief that those imperfections need to be kept in check at all times and The Constitution is the vehicle to do it. The Far Left foundation is the lie. They would have us believe in their greatest Narcissistic fantasies they are Madison's "Angels" come down to grace us with their Utopian unacheivable vision of government control.
In our journey to explore the ins and outs of the political views of writers/producers and broadcast giants, it is important for us to keep in mind their motivations in light of The Founders truth. The Fathers Know Best.
